Maestlin prepared the publication of a revised version of the Rheticus tables. Maestlin passed his Master's examination on 1 August 1571, while he edited the third edition of Erasmus Reinhold, Prutenicae tabulae coelestium motuum (1571) at Gruppenbach's in Tübingen. The appendix to this edition is written by Maestlin and dated 28 August 1571.
