Abstract
This article provides an overview of the characterization of the relationship between faith and reason in the First Vatican Council’s Dei Filius. Key passages are highlighted, and important and/or confounding elements of those passages are clarified and elaborated on. The article aims to offset the scarcity of English-language scholarship on the document so that a wider number of persons are able to carry out an informed appropriation of it.
