Abstract
It is readily acknowledged that the recitation of the psalms was central to the Liturgy of the Hours in the Latin monastic tradition, and in this, there was great variation on how best this liturgy was to be celebrated. Against this variation, the author examines the light shed on the Liturgy of the Hours by the Nauigatio of St. Brendan.
