Abstract
Vatican II's authoritative teaching on revelation achieved a number of important breakthroughs. They constitute a perennial source of renewal for theology and for the Church. After noting the two theological 'languages' used in Dei Verbum, the author explores some of the document's major theological themes — and notes some remarkable silences.
