Abstract
A number of themes in the New Testament show that the early Church was influenced by the idea and practice of Jubilee, especially as it is found in Second and Third Isaiah. The following study is limited to reflection upon two themes: the explicit use of Jubilee texts at the beginning of the Gospel of Luke, and a Gospel understanding of our role as followers of the one who proclaimed the 'today' of Jubilee.
