A Common Service for Mental and Neurological Illness

Abstract

A common in- and out-patient service for all patients with diseases of the nervous system was organized within the framework of a common hospital and polyclinic unit of a rural district. The co-operative work in this system seemed to be very useful for both neurologic and psychiatric patients. But it caused overwork to physicians and nurses, and did harm to the moral respect and material interest, and did not agree with the concepts of the physicians and the local authorities.
