PC-based protective relaying algorithms for generator using digital filters
Protective relaying algorithms are developed for extracting 50 Hz component of generator stator signals and 100 Hz component of rotor current signals. These frequency components are used for detecting the internal short-circuit and rotor overheating condition of generators. The proposed algorithms were satisfactorily tested for various simulated conditions of the system.
