Spreadsheet demonstration of discrete and fast Fourier transforms
The creation of discrete and fast Fourier transforms on a spreadsheet is a simple and informative exercise which graphically illustrates the simplicity and symmetries of the FFT. Experiments with ‘what-if’ exercises on the resulting spreadsheets lead to insight into concepts of the digital time and frequency domains.
