A comparative study of on-off characteristics of conversational Bangla and English speech over a telephone channel
The existing ‘speech interpolation’ technique used in some speech transmission systems has been developed for the English language. In order to explore the possibility that different settings of the parameters might be more appropriate for other languages, the on-off speech statistics of conversational Bangla speech over a telephone channel were collected.
