Practical calculation of electrodynamic stress on bus structures during short circuits with particular reference to Delta Steel Mill Co.
A simple, practical method of calculating the mechanical stresses in busbar structures during short circuits is developed and presented. Not only the short circuit current but also the mechanical characteristics of the busbar structures are considered, and the method should be applicable to a wide range of structures and circuit conditions.
