Kirchhoff's laws are considered for the special case of sinusoidal excitation and phasor formulations are obtained in a coherent manner. It is shown that the phasor diagram may be obtained directly from the circuit diagram by replacing the circuit symbols by complex numbers while maintaining the original orientations.
