On the Upgrading of a Personal Robot for Use in a Computing Science Robotics Laboratory

The upgrading of a personal robot, Hero-1, for use in a computing science robotics laboratory is described. Typical experiments which utilise Hero-1 are presented, from which it is concluded that such personal robots can indeed be used successfully in the teaching of robotics fundamentals.
