With the aim being to expose large numbers of degree students to the practical details of a semi-custom circuit design cycle, a case study of a second year degree group project, which resulted in custom chips being manufactured, using the QUDOS ‘MINICHIP’ gate array design suite is presented. Administrative objectives are discussed together with an analysis of the chip samples received.
