The integration of an ultrasonic sensor into a simple, playback-type robotic arm is described. The implemented system is capable of searching and grasping objects within its operating range. The system has proved to be a useful tool for introducing students to the area of robotics. The work also confirms the simplicity of using acoustic sensor in low resolution applications.
