The effect that the project selection preference has on the mark of a final-year student project
An investigation is reported on the project allocation for two years with 51 and 53 students. It is found that if a student is allocated his first preference (or his first or second preference), then his performance does not differ significantly from that of all other students who were allocated projects of lower preference.
