Methods of generating switching surges using a distribution type transformer
Three methods, two conventional and a proposed method, are compared with regard to their effectiveness in generating ‘switching surge’ waveforms of magnitudes normally required in laboratory insulation testing. The results of theoretical computations show that the original proposed method has some advantages to offer over the other two.
