Integrated circuit design in an industrially oriented M.Eng. course
The paper describes experience of teaching full-custom integrated circuit design in a postgraduate sandwich course. The course uses SERC facilities for CAD and the fabrication of student chip designs, making it particularly valuable to industry. An extension to first-degree courses including semi-custom design is highly desirable.
