The paper discusses the M.Sc. course in Microprocessor Engineering at UMIST. Students attend for two terms, take written examinations and then carry out a dissertation project forsix months. Syllabuses are considered and dissertation arrangements discussed, in the hope that this may be useful to others establishing similar courses.
