This paper relates the evolution of computer-aided circuit design (CACD) to the requirements of the circuit design engineer and analyses the techniques employed to gain a greater acceptance of computer-based circuit design. Great emphasis is placed on using the full capabilities of the computer in terms of analysis and graphical interaction at the man-machine interface.
