By means of an example, the usual analytical approach to the resistive Thevenin Theorem is complemented by a graphical interpretation. Resistive controlled sources are examined, and the concept of equivalence is used to show why the reduction of controlled sources to zero gives incorrect answers in the determination of the Thevenin resistance.
