Conductor and Tooth Forces in Electrical Machines

Abstract

A relatively simple analysis of a basic machine is described which demonstrates how the forces produced by it are shared between the conductors and teeth. The theory is based on energy considerations and is complementary to the genaralized approach to machines often used in undergraduate teaching.
