Abstract
Several writers have noticed the curious parallel between the symbols of Serbian and of Ulster protestant nationalism. Both the Serbs and the Ulstermen present their ancestors as the last bastion of true religion against the infidel. From there it is a small step to see the present-day battle as merely a continuation of that struggle.
