Abstract
The design of process analysers involves multi-disciplinary overall involvement, therefore this paper can only highlight the difficulties associated with this work and relate these to the engineering tasks. The requirements, problem areas and user specifications are discussed, and also other areas are considered where design can play a vital role in reducing costs and improving the acceptability of the analyser in the market place.
