Abstract
This paper presents a collection of techniques which the author has found useful when simulating continuous systems on analogue and digital computers. It is concerned with the solution of implicit algebraic equations of the general form:
f(x) = 0
It outlines the advantages and disadvantages of the methods. and includes an example from the author's own experience in the chemical industry. The digital programme examples are based on CSMP 360.
