Abstract
Any fluid flow system with regulators needing a cleaner supply may give rise to additional costs and maintenance for its provisioning. A self cleaning micronic filter is described for aircraft fuel systems, in which a fluidic oscillator is connected to commercial filter elements through a system of restrictors. This allows a fraction of the filtered supply for the regulator to be reversed through the elements thus preventing significant silting within the weave. Some experimental work has been described which is encouraging.
