A Simple Method of Arriving at Control Structures for Multivariable Systems

Abstract

Some properties of Bristol's “relative gain array” are discussed and it is shown that these lead to the selection of simple structures for multivariable control systems. A design method based on this approach helps the design engineer rapidly to select suitable structures for detailed evaluation.
