Abstract
As part of a study into the computerised automation of paper machines we have begun to investigate the problem of paper humidity and control. The first results and reflections thereon are given below.
The pilot unit is equipped with two gauges: one at the dry end, of the conventional capacitive type, with co-planar electrodes in contact with the sheet, the other at the wet end, which is also based on the variation of the dielectric constant but with two opposed heads and no contact.
