Science, technology, and industry are demanding temperature measurements that are faster, wider ranging, more accurate, more rugged, and cheaper than conventional capabilities. Acoustical instrumentation has a good chance of meeting these requirements in many critical applications. Here's a review of techniques that are either available or under investigation.
