During 1967–68 three papers were published on the on-off control of electroheat processes. They apparently reported conflicting results. This has led to confusion in electroheat-control circles. In this paper these contributions are compared; two are shown to be complementary and the third misleading. New material makes good deficiencies in all three. The presentation is intended for the professional engineer concerned with industrial electroheat control.
