Abstract
This new qualification from the InstMC substantiates the competence of professional engineers working in the field of functional safety. The qualification is awarded through professional peer review and is positioned at a level corresponding with professional engineer (IEng/CEng) as promulgated by the Engineering Council in the United Kingdom.
Registration as IEng/CEng (or their equivalent in jurisdictions beyond the United Kingdom) is a prerequisite for application in demonstration of professional standing. (Applicants need not be members of the InstMC.)
Successful candidates may use the title ‘Registered Functional Safety Engineer’.
