Abstract

During a glittering evening choreographed by the college and enhanced by entertainment provided by their Performing Arts pupils, the Teesside Section presented an award to the Best Student completing the HNC course in Instrumentation and Control. The winner this year is Mr Rob Tate. Rob came to the college as an experienced and mature adult learner. As a qualified Instrumentation Technician he was seeking to improve his qualifications and deeper understanding of the theory in instrumentation and control systems.
Rob has had many posts in contracting, taking him up and down the country but really felt he needed to study at a higher level, which is no mean feat when being away from education for some years. He is testament to lifelong learning. He is 100% dedicated to his studies while holding down a full-time job. He also came into the college in his own time to delve further into specialist software in order to analyse the modelling of control systems. Rob recently applied for a vacant teaching post in engineering at the college and has been offered the post. We wish him every success.
