Abstract
The best HNC final year student award winner this year is Mr Steven Haigh. Stephen (pictured on the far right of the engineering award winners group) completed an apprenticeship in manufacturing with a local food manufacturing company, before being promoted through the company’s engineering development programme to Apprentice Engineer. He now works as an Engineering Technical Coordinator responsible for two production lines. Since returning to education 5 years ago, he set himself high standards for the HNC in Instrumentation and Control, building on the distinction grades from his Level 3 Diploma in Engineering. This year, he graduated with distinction grades in all eight units.
