I. Central North West
On 20 April, Alan George of MCONTROLS.CO.UK (http://mcontrols.co.uk/) gave three lectures on behalf of Central North-West Local Section. The lectures on polymer control were at Manchester University in the morning, Liverpool John Moores University in the afternoon and Yokogawa offices, Runcorn, UK, in the evening.

II. East of Scotland
The InstMC East of Scotland Section’s Student of the Year award for 2016 went to Ignazio De Guglielmi of Forth Valley College in Falkirk, Scotland. The presentation was made by Bob Moncur of DPS Group, who sponsored the award. Ignazio completed his Higher National Diploma (HND) in Measurement and Control at the college and is now studying towards an electrical engineering degree at Edinburgh Napier University, Edinburgh, Scotland.
