Abstract

So that the Institute can keep moving forward, fresh faces, fresh ideas and fresh initiatives are needed. Members who would like to influence and lead the development and direction of the Institute are therefore cordially invited to consider standing for election to the following posts, which become effective from January 2016:
Vice-President (× 2 vacancies)
Members of Council (× 3 vacancies).
The Vice-Presidents support the President in fostering the objectives and interests of the Institute and deputise for her, as appropriate and necessary, in the discharge of her role.
Members of Council are the interface between the Institute’s central organs of governance and leadership and the general membership. They support and advise the Board of Trustees in matters of strategy and policy and are well placed to participate directly in the planning and implementation of operations and activities.
The posts are each for initial terms of 3 years and may be extended for a further 3 years subject to re-election at the end of the term.
Members (i.e. Hon Fellows, Fellows (FInstMC), Members (MInstMC) and Associate Members who are registered as EngTech) interested in standing for election should contact me before Friday 15 May 2015 for details of the nominations and election processes. (Candidates will be required to have their nominations countersigned/supported by six members from the aforementioned categories and, if a ballot becomes necessary, will be asked for short statements on their suitability for election.)
