Abstract

Booth Welsh, a market leader in the provision of process design, control and instrumentation, systems integration, electrical and asset management services, celebrates 25 years in business this year.
Booth Welsh Associates Ltd was formed in 1989 by John Welsh originally as a technical recruitment agency. The company’s big break came in 1992 when they secured a large oil and gas commissioning project at St Fergus, marking Booth Welsh’s long-term move into providing control engineering solutions.
Today, Booth Welsh is a complete engineering service provider specialising in providing instrument, control and electrical engineering, including configuration, installation, maintenance and renewal of control engineering systems across a range of industries.
John Welsh, Chairman and Founder of Booth Welsh, looks back on the last 25 years: Our long term success has been founded on putting our clients first, supported by continuous innovation of our service offering in line with client needs and investment in our people. I take great pride in saying we have achieved consistent, controlled growth over a long period, working in a high-technology environment, which is the result of having top skilled people deliver quality solutions to all of our clients.
Martin Welsh, Managing Director of Booth Welsh, comments, Looking forward, our key objective is to build on Booth Welsh’s key strengths to extend and accelerate the company’s long term track record of revenue growth and profitability.
In line with the company’s growth plans, Booth Welsh is delighted to announce a move to larger Head Office premises later this year. This proposed move will provide the foundations for the company’s ambitious growth strategy going forward and help attract new clients and employees.
Martin Welsh, Managing Director, comments, By developing more in the direction of engineering services, any growth directly impacts on desk space therefore our growth plans require new premises. As such we will be moving to Irvine’s Bay’s Enterprise Area, continuing our commitment to North Ayrshire whilst moving to an area where we are among other businesses in similar and complimentary fields.
Currently, Booth Welsh employs over 200 people including apprentices and graduates, and the proposed new location gives Booth Welsh twice the space they have currently. With 40,000 sq ft to fill, more resources will be required in every area of the business from back office support, apprenticeships and graduates to fully experienced engineers, bringing future jobs to the people of Ayrshire and beyond.

Currently, the move is planned to take place in late autumn.
To mark the company’s momentous 25-year milestone and premises move, Booth Welsh will be rolling out a re-branding campaign beginning with a new logo design to better represent the company today.
Martin Welsh, added, Specifically the rebrand will allow us to communicate the change in company offerings and help enhance our proud record of growth in new markets. We have the right team in place to make this happen as well as a larger new space to grow and I look forward to the next 25 years with great anticipation and excitement.
