Abstract
The 12th anniversary of this very popular event held this year at Mill Green Golf Club, Welwyn Garden City on 6 September proved to be another successful and hugely enjoyable day, despite being the first time in its 12-year history that the event was played in inclement weather.
The usual event format comprised a compliment of 17 teams and 68 players participating in a shotgun start occupying the entire golf course. The organisers Steve Evans (Herts Section) and Brian Parkes (London Section) would like to thank all this year’s team participants and prize sponsors. The competition was extremely close. Overall, event winner with 42 Stableford points and the winner of a handsome trophy, a top of the range electric golf trolley, was Brian Parkes playing on the Valve Solutions team. Countback was needed to determine second and third places on 41 Stableford points.
The winning team was Eaton Valves with 114 points. Second and third team winners were Able Instruments and Yokogawa Marex, with 110 and 108 points, respectively. Numerous other prize awards were presented for longest drives, nearest the pins and best of the par threes.
