Abstract
Since 1965, several volunteers have operated annual summer camps in the Cleveland, Ohio area for children with pulmonary diseases. The children use the same special equipment, such as mist tents, as at home. Counselors act as "big brothers and sisters" to the children, and the camp philosophy is that chronically ill children can benefit from these relationships and from independence. All the recreational opportunities of any summer camp are available. During the 1976 camp season, 80 gallons of fluid were used for mist tent therapy, and 1,107 postural drainage treatments were given.
