Abstract
A tragedy was averted when a four-year-old boy was rescued from a oxygen tent fire by a nurse aide. The investigation determined the cause was a friction toy, but the mystery remains of how the toy got in the tent. In an effort to prevent further such mishaps, the Respiratory Therapy Department designed a special “Oxygen in Use” sign for the pediatric area.
