The spatial relationships between an operator and his working environment must be evaluated early in the design process. To aid the designer in this evaluation, a computerized biokinematic model of the operator has been developed to determine reach feasibility and predict the configuration of aseated operator performing a task sequence. The development, validation, and applications of the model are discussed.
