This paper has selected from the major publications of the psychology division of the Central Labour Institute those that illustrate the range of the work of government psychologists in Indian industry. Much of the day to day work does not lead to full investigation or published report. There is a stream of enquiry from industry, and the topics include the introduction of training programmes, the reasons for early retirement from a mining undertaking and the problems of job evaluation. Psychologists have collaborated with physiologists in studies on the seasonal work load in the textile industry and fruitful partnerships between the different disciplines is developing within the Central Labour Institute.
