A discrete voluntary ballistic forearm flexion in the sagittal plane was investigated. Interrupted-light photographs were taken of the movement. The photographs provided the basic data from which the fundamental kinematic relationships for this type of motion were formulated. Empirical equations were determined, and their application to the power developed at the elbow joint during conditions of weightlessness shown graphically.
