Abstract
Observers were tested on their ability to make target axis angle difference judgments utilizing the angles at the boundaries of an angle classification system as standard stimuli. Utilizing the constant stimulus method with three judgment categories, the uncertainty interval was found to be approximately ± 2 deg. Compared with absolute angular categorization employed in a previous study, the presence of a comparison stimulus considerably increased accuracy.
