Requirements for presenting to the human operator the information needed to pilot air vehicles change as the performance characteristics of aircraft change. The most modern concepts of high altitude, supersonic air vehicles demand a more rigorous system for refined and accurate information for operator control with minimal error in performance than has previously been required. This study attempts to define the problem in a specific area of an optimal flight attitude display with which to fly a constant pitch attitude climb.
