Abstract
A 1957 follow-up of a 1956 survey was made to determine the extent of human factors research in industry. More than 80% of the 56 companies contacted have human factors programs. The size of the human factors groups varied from one to thirty-four, with an average of ten, including professional, technical and administrative personnel. It is estimated that 700 people will be employed in human factors programs by 1960 in the companies surveyed.
