Attitudes of parents and teachers to sex education

Abstract

A STUDY was undertaken in the spring of 1986 to discover the attitudes of parents, teachers, and stu dent teachers to sex education. The groups were asked to assess a questionnaire designed to test chil dren's ability to differentiate between fact and myth in sexual matters. Parents were more positive than teachers and student teachers, who felt that factual information about sex should be placed in the con text of education for personal relationships.
