A questionnaire was devised to evaluate two differ ent dental health presentations given at parentcraft classes held at a large maternity hospital in Chester. Attenders at the two classes — a talk, and a tape/slide presentation - and one control group, completed a questionnaire on their knowledge of dental health before and after the classes. Baseline knowledge was found to be patchy, and not much improved follow ing the classes. This underlines the need for pro gramme planning and evaluation.
