Abstract
Although importing bovine meat from India to China is illegal, the actual trade flow is flourishing and impacts both beef markets significantly. This article assumes that the illegal bovine meat trade value from India to China equals to the difference between Indian’s officially announced exports value to Vietnam and the Vietnam’s officially announced imports value from India. Based on that, we analyzed the current situation of Sino-Indian actual bovine meat trade and its influencing factors. We found that China is actually the largest bovine meat trading partner of India. The consumption volume in Chinese market, the relative bovine meat price and the customs supervision of China impacts the non-normal trade significantly.
