Abstract
Scrutiny of several important publications relating to Joshua-Kings and Chronicles from the present decade demonstrates continuing modification of the hypothesis of a Deuteronomistic History, increasing interest in Judges as a separate book, lively concern with the books of Chronicles, and developing reflection on the literariness of the whole Old Testament royal narrative.
