The article briefly describes and evaluates recent commentaries on the Pastoral Epistles by R. F. Collins, L. T. Johnson, W. L. Liefeld, W. D. Mounce, and J. D. Quinn, all of which contribute to our understanding. The cases for closely associating the letters with Paul and interpreting them as later, pseudonymous works both continue to be vigorously prosecuted.
