Abstract
A method for evaluating results of Procrustean rotation to a target factor pattern matrix in exploratory factor analysis is described. The approach is based on the bootstrap methodology. The method yields empirical approximations of the sampling distributions of (a) the differences between corresponding elements of the target and rotated factor pattern matrices and (b) the overall least-squares fit measure assessing similarity between the two matrices. The method is demonstrated on a simulated data set.
